It’s been a while that I’ve found time to update what’s going on with The Edge. We’re covering Darlington High School football this year, so our Friday nights are booked now until mid November at least. Much of our time has been spent producing videos for the Church at The Well and in preparation for full-time services starting in October.

September 3, 20082 More BartowBuzzTV Updates….
May 12, 2008We added 2 more BartowBuzzTV videos. Trellis Garden and Gifts and A Smile 4 U dentistry, both in Cartersville. Sandy Lusk at Trellis Garden, whose shop was on the April 2008 cover of the Bartow Buzz Kidz, was a lot of fun, very informative, and obviously very passionate about business and environmental awareness. It shows in how great her shop looks and how great she is with friends and customers.
The folks over at A Smile 4 U were holding a community event with lots of activities for kids and were offering free dental screenings. We spoke with Bethany and Melly who were able to let us know a little bit about their office and how great A Smile 4 U is for the dental health of children. Thanks to Diane at A Smile 4 U for setting things up and allowing us this opportunity.
Keep an eye out for our next BartowBuzzTV update. It’s a beauty.
Now launching BartowBuzzTV!!
April 13, 2008We are partnering with the Bartow Buzz magazine to present BartowBuzzTV. Each month, the Bartow Buzz has a cover story and our goal is to provide every cover customer with a feature video of their company’s or organization’s services. Bartow Buzz cover customers can receive double advertising through print with the Bartow Buzz magazine and video through BartowBuzzTV. That’s direct advertising and exposure to customers through two of the most power mediums in the world: print and video through the internet. One great feature of the video is that they can add the video to their company web site for continued exposure and share it instantly with anyone, worldwide, through the web.

This month, the Bartow County Advocates for Children is the Bartow Buzz cover feature and they are highlighting their annual Duck Derby. This is a great cause and raises funds to support a very important and needed organization in the Bartow County community. Plus, the Duck Derby is a lot of fun for everyone!
We here at The Edge Video Productions are really enthusiastic with this project and feel very blessed that April and the folks at the Bartow Buzz are allowing us this opportunity.

Big Project For The Edge.
March 4, 2008We’re getting started on a potentially big project right now. Well, it’s big for us anyway. I’d like to be able to talk more about it, but just in case things fall through, I don’t want to make a big deal about nothing. Hopefully, as things progress this spring and summer, we’ll be able to “show our hand” and reveal our production and how we’re involved.
I’m going to keep an anonymous blog about it to journal the process, where we’re at, lessons learned, people involved, etc. Names will be altered to protect the innocent. We’re hoping that once we see a finish line, we’ll be able to reveal the blog and give a “behind the scenes” look from where we were to where we are and how we got there with “project x”.
Church At The Well – Kyle O’Neal Intro Video
February 19, 2008Well, we got the video put together and it should be up on The Church at The Well website within the week. You can see the video here:

Update From The Edge: Kyle O’Neal Band Video
February 4, 2008From time to time we will update the blog with news from some of our projects, business and personal, that are in work. With our first update, we’ll talk about a personal project; our video shoot with the Kyle O’Neal Band.
This weekend we were given a great opportunity to shoot a 2-camera video production of the Kyle O’Neal Band. It didn’t really qualify as a “music video” as it’s more a video of a live performance. Kyle and the band sounded great and everyone is excited to see how things will turn out.

Kyle is helping launch the new United Methodist Church at The Well in Cartersville and is serving as the Worship Leader. Kyle has traveled all over playing great music, has been involved with other Church plants, and we’re excited to see what God has in store for Kyle and The Well. We too are part The Well “launch team” and all of us are using the talents God has given us to maybe help others recognize His love. Once complete, these videos will be posted on Kyle’s site, The Well, and on our site.

5 things to consider for your photo montage
February 2, 2008Everyone who is interested in a video photo montage, keep these things in mind.
5- How long do you want your video to last? 10 minutes? 20 minutes? 1 hour? Typically, we suggest any video you wish to show at a retirement, graduation, team party, or any other party be no longer than 15 minutes. If your audience is full of people that you are very, very close to, they will probably stay tuned in for the duration regardless of how long it is, but if there are lots of “not-so-close” guests they’ll lose interest about 7 minutes in. One option to please everyone is to have 1 version for you and an “abbreviated” version to show at the party.
4- Song selection. Try to pick “timeless” songs. If you have photos that are 20 years old, maybe go with a song that’s 20 years old or go with something that’s new and will be good 20 years from now.
3- Messages. Keep in mind that you can add captions and messages to particular photos in your video. Also keep in mind who all might see your video too when you’re writing these.
2- Photo sequence. If you have paper photos that need scanning, in pencil, write on the back of the photo the number when you want the photo to appear in the video. If you want it to be the 1st picture, write a “1″ on the back of the photo. If you want it to be the 23rd picture, write a “23″ on the back of the photo. For digital pictures, rename the file to the number order in which you want the picture to appear in sequence on the video. If you want a certain digital picture to be the 31st or 32nd picture in the video, rename the picture file to “031.jpeg” or “032.jpeg”. Taking these steps will speed the process of getting your video picture sequence in order.
1- Time, time, time. Give yourself plenty of time before you need your video. You’ll be surprised how much time it will take you to find all of your old photos, pick the ones you want, organize them, pick music and songs, and write your messages if you’re using them. We all have busy lives and it will take lots of footwork from you to get your package ready to send to us, but the work will well be worth the effort once you receive your final product.
Remember, if you have any questions, please call us. We’ll help you with any questions you have about your video.
